Kelly sponsors Supplier Diversity Summits
On the Road with Kelly Services
Bring together diverse staffing suppliers from two states along with senior managers and procurement specialists from Kelly Services in a daylong conference, and you have the latest regional Kelly Supplier Diversity Summit.
Recently sponsored by and held at ExxonMobil’s Exploration and Producing Operations in Houston, the summit attracted representatives from more than 35 Texas- and Louisiana-based staffing companies.
Kelly’s Supplier Diversity Development team launched this national road show in September 2004 to promote MWDBE business development, provide a networking forum for staffing companies, and to share best practices within the supply chain.
“The Supplier Diversity Summits are high-energy forums designed to inform, engage, and generate business opportunities for MWDBEs,” said Nicole Lewis, vice president, Supplier Diversity Development, Kelly Services. “Kelly believes that supplier diversity development is a key component to a company’s overall success and we’re pleased to provide the vehicle that makes this happen.”
The morning session included an in-depth look at the state of the staffing industry, delivered by Kelly Services’ president and chief operating officer, Carl Camden. The afternoon was dedicated to networking and roundtable discussions among attendees, and procurement specialists from Kelly.
“These summits serve to strengthen a commitment to diversity that both our companies share,” said Nancy Swartout, manager, Global Supplier Diversity, Exxon Mobil Corp. “We’re pleased to support Kelly’s efforts in helping diverse companies develop into strong supply and staffing partners.”
Next regional summit will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 in New Brunswick, N.J. For more information, please contact Brenda Marshall at (248) 244-4308 or brenda_marshall@kellyservices.com.
